The highways, and where they go.

Interstate 35. I-35 cuts diagonally southwest-to-northeast through the city. If you're on it heading northeast you're aimed at downtown.

Interstate 435. I-435 is the outer loop. On the east side it's the road you take to reach the stadiums.

Interstate 470. I-470 cuts across the southeast, linking US-71 to I-70 out past the sports complex.

Interstate 635. I-635 is the western bypass, running north–south through Kansas City, Kansas between I-35 and the river.

Interstate 670. I-670 is the short south leg of the downtown loop — locals call the whole rectangle 'the loop'.

Interstate 70. I-70 crosses the top of downtown on the north loop, then bends south-east out to the stadiums — the road to St. Louis one way, Denver the other.

Bruce R. Watkins Drive (US-71). US-71 (Bruce R. Watkins Dr) is the fast north–south freeway through the east side, feeding straight into downtown.

Metcalf Avenue. Metcalf Ave carries US-69 and is Johnson County's main north–south commercial spine.

Shawnee Mission Parkway. Shawnee Mission Pkwy is the fast east–west route across Johnson County, ending at Nall where the road becomes 63rd Street.

Southwest Trafficway. Southwest Trafficway is the fast diagonal between the Plaza and downtown — the local's alternative to I-35.

US-169 / Broadway Bridge. US-169 carries the Broadway Bridge over the Missouri River — the quickest hop to the Northland.
